K. S. Moore is currently working on a novella, set in the Irish countryside. It’s a literary romance, which uses the landscape to illustrate the depth of feeling between a heartbroken jeweller and a lonely farmer. The sea is a vital ingredient in the novel, weaving a fairy-tale magic into the unfolding events: ‘Over the years, the mermaids faded. He still dreamt of the beach, but the tide had receded to reveal sumptuous sand, the kind you can drift in, lose your toes to, as you sink gratefully into its benevolent hold . . .’
K. S. Moore occasionally teaches workshops and recently brought ‘Start Write’ (for beginners) to Garter Lane, Waterford and to Clonmel Craft Studio. She also explores the short story format in ‘Story Wise’, which has taken place in Clonmel, Dungarvan and Carrick-on-Suir. She hopes to teach more workshops in the near future and is a keen participant in local festivals, such as Waterford Writers’ Weekend and Winterval.
