A First Draft takes Shape
I’ve made significant progress in the first draft of my novel and would say that I’m around two thirds of the way through. I feel as though I am pulling at threads, tightening them to create a secure and structured narrative. What was once a stream of words is now beginning to take shape.
Blossom, Bird Fights and Bumblebees
Right now, I have a stunning view from my window. The tree across the road is wearing a badge of blossom. It looks like a wedding guest, proud to show off some fresh blooms for the occasion.
Christenings, Weddings and a Special Anniversary
Christenings and Weddings – two of the purest, most joyous occasions we celebrate. How lucky am I to have a christening to attend this Saturday and a wedding to go to in two weeks time? Very lucky, but slightly tortured by multiple fashion dilemmas . . .

Dylan Thomas and a Swansea Silver Wedding
I’m just back from a heartwarming trip to my hometown of Swansea, where I caught up with family, dipped my toe into the Dylan Thomas Centenary Celebrations, and ate a ridiculous amount of food!
Escape to Cork and Captain America
Cork has become one of my favourite places to escape to – not that I need to escape very often. It’s just that when you work at home and don’t get out very much, a day trip can be a huge release and a chance to recharge the batteries for future endeavours. It’s even more…
Frogs and Fallen Trees
I went down to the woods and sure enough, a big surprise awaited me. My usual path to the stream (and on to the frogspawn, I delight in spotting every year) was blocked by a host of fallen trees.
